Déjà vu. Déjà su. Déjà vécu.

My new painting is inspired by the book of V E Schwab, ” The invisible life of Addie La Rue”.

In summary, Addie La Rue makes a deal wirh the Darkness (Luc -Lucifer) back in 1714, that makes her immortal. The curse that follows with this bargain is that Addie is forgotten by everyone she meets, being unable to leave any trace of her existence in this world.

However, someone did remembered Addie all these centuries… that was Luc. Their relationship is quite complex and develops throughout the book. I see that underneath its complexity, their relattionship can also be interpreted as a timeless love story.

In my painting, Addie is standing at the sun down, meeting the only God that has answered her prayers, Luc, even though she has been warned to never pray to the Gods by sun down.
